In the museum video Calle Lundkvist tells us about Trabant. People in East Germany had to wait 20 years to get one. But if they could pay in west money they could get it at once. To show how they had paid, the roof was painted white. Video 1, Video 2

After the war it was so decided by the allied that it was allowed for the winners take as war booty factories which had served the German army and used war prisoners as work slaves. For this reason the Russians took the complete Opel factory in Brandenburg Eastern Germany and transported everything to Moscow. It was rebuild and production was reincorporated with the Opel Kadett 1936 model. It was named Moskvich which translated means "Living in Moscow". This car is produced between 1947 and 1956.
