The iron boom ended 1930 after 15 years. Korsån works was closed just as Åg and Vintjärn, but Vintjärn opened again 1940. Instead works were build up in much more bigger scale in Borlänge, than what the small foundries could do. It  was of course a sad day for Korsån and all people who felt connection with this forge works, which had started already 1841. It was built to take care or the pig iron from Åg, which in turn got the ore from Vintjärn. In the beginning it was transported by horse and wagons  to Korsån and not until 1945 a road was built form surrounding villages. This road was not aimed to break the solitariness of the small village Korsån. Instead it was for economic cause. The reason was to be able to take care of the valuable timber. This gave many working opportunities. All Lancashire iron had earlier been transported on the lakes Hinsen and Hyen and then heading for export from Gävle. Now there was a tall tale that Eiffel tower got its iron from Korsån. The same is valid about puddel iron from Surahammar. But it is in this way that either Korsån or Surahammar had the capacity to deliver iron for this tourist attraction. There were about 300 persons which choose to settle in the, from roads absence village. There they must have get on well under the lead of manager Edward Södersten and his 30 years long lead. The thing we call culture was developed in the locals clubs for song and music. A business society was started 1868, one for religion 1882, and a prayer house with parish hall was built and also a schoolhouse combined as a church. Temperance organization came 1889.  There is also a funeral yard beautifully placed just beside the lake south of the village.
The development of Korsån occur in several steps. In the beginning the production was about 500 tons a year and for this there were 4 hearths and 3 hammers.
1850 a rather large update and reconstruction was made. The existing hearths was rebuilt and another hammer was installed. The works started also to deliver melt iron. Now the production increased to 500 tons forged iron and 700 tons of melt iron. 1870 the place got a new connection channel and another large hammer. The production now raised to 800 tons forged iron and 1000 tons of melt iron. In order to get more pig iron from Åg a close ratio railroad was built from Åg to Korsån 1885. Furthermore the barge channel was updated out of Korsån. This became the peek time with 2600 tons of forged iron and 3000 tons melt iron. After WWI the demand for was decreased and production was suffering from the depression. 1930 the demand was so low that Korsån (1930), Åg (1927) and also Vintjärn were closed. The mine Vintjärn was opened again 1940 and was running up to 1978. Now people in Korsån got work in forest and this was why roads were built.
