Summer 2010 i was driving in Skane and was on the way north. I had stayed over the night in Simrishamn in order to visit Automuseum. But in vain as it was closed on mondays. Then I headed north over Kivik, where i bought some liter of cider. On a straight I saw a sign about Brosarp museum station. I waited about 5 min before I decided to turn around in order to look at the station. Since long time I am interested in old trains. I was on the way to Karlskrona in order to look at Marin museum and Car Sport museum. Anyway here is the Brosarp result.

Brösarp - S:t Olof museum railroad has heritage from one of the many small railroads station buildings in Osterlen Skane built in the end of 1800. When all mergings and down loads (started 1941 and 1947) were done was there among others this part Brösarp-S:t Olof sträckan left. It was 14 km.

The rail, Ystad - Brösarp, was paid by several persons in leading positions in Ystad and also some private merchants in the area. The rail started to be built 1899 and was ready for use 1902. The union that operate this museum rail have at least 2 steam locos, which have been military preparedness locos. Besides even diesel drive switch engines. Also there is surplus of traction force. The picture shows the steam garage. Inside it was more than I expected.

If a steam engine lose this mark it is scraped and it's parts can be used as spares.

Here loco SJ S1280 with work made in the dome. This is the type tank loco without tender. Normally used as switch engine on railroad yards. This loco is later renovated. See link.

Here is the four axle driven loco SJ S1283. The union has got it through change in Denamrk. This is a cargo loco from a model used for ore transports between Kiruna and Narvik. Note that the steam cylinders are not on the outside. Their place are inside between the wheels. Read previous picture. This made that the complicated drive axles were not needed outside. Instead it was a cranshaft inside. May be it is the same complexity. With these type of construction a loco could have max four cylinders. In this way it became very powerful locos.

An older express train. This can be seen for the large wheels. It is often that other museum unions pay for a place for a loco not in traffic.

The big pipe under the round front is for used steam. Used steam is evacuated here through the chimney together with the gases from heating fire. It is in this was the loco makes it's tuff tuff.

It is very important that the drive wheels have the same diameter and also on both sides, othewise the smaller wheel will make braking. It will have a quick wear.

From Loco museum in Grangesberg I learned that if this id plate was removed the loco had been scraped and registered as spare part. May be why the plate is over painted.
